In this episode, our host Alina Ivan explores the evidence behind the catchphrase in conversation with mental health researchers, cultural historians, artists and experts by experience.

Finnish artist Nastja Säde Rönkkö tells us about her project 6 Months Without, which documented what it feels like to completely disconnect from the Internet while being based in London. We also hear from Prof Susan Matt & Prof Luke Fernandez, authors of the book Bored, Lonely, Angry, Stupid: Changing Feelings about Technology from the Telegraph to Twitter. They shed light on how technology and social media have come to gradually shape our inner lives. To find out where scientific research is now heading, Alina then goes to the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience to speak to Prof Sir Simon Wessely, former president of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and to Dr Rina Dutta
